I love french toast bakes, but not all the fat and calories, so I lightened it up a bit w/ egg beaters egg substitute and fat free milk. It tastes jsut as good to me as the full fat recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c
    egg beaters
  • 1/2 c
    fat free milk
  • 4 slice
    whole wheat bread, cubed
  • 2
    ripe peaches, pared, cored, diced
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    dark brown sugar
  • 2 tsp
    butter
  • 1 dash(es)
    cinnamon

How to Make Lightened peachy french toast bake

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 350. Lightly spray 2 loaf pans w/ cooking spray. In bowl, beat egg beaters, milk, 1-1/3 tbsp brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon.
  2. Add bread and peaches, gently stir and let sit 2 mins. In another bowl, combine flour, remaining brown sugar, butter and a dash of cinnamon. Divide the bread mix evenly between 2 pans.
  3. Sprinkle each w/ flour mix. Bake 35 mins, or until golden brown.
