I love french toast bakes, but not all the fat and calories, so I lightened it up a bit w/ egg beaters egg substitute and fat free milk. It tastes jsut as good to me as the full fat recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup egg beaters
  • 1/2 cup fat free milk
  • 4 slices whole wheat bread, cubed
  • 2 - ripe peaches, pared, cored, diced
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 dash cinnamon

How To Make lightened peachy french toast bake

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 350. Lightly spray 2 loaf pans w/ cooking spray. In bowl, beat egg beaters, milk, 1-1/3 tbsp brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon.
  • Step 2
    Add bread and peaches, gently stir and let sit 2 mins. In another bowl, combine flour, remaining brown sugar, butter and a dash of cinnamon. Divide the bread mix evenly between 2 pans.
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle each w/ flour mix. Bake 35 mins, or until golden brown.
