This is my favorite cranberry bread recipe. It is tart and sweet at the same time. This recipe makes the the bread so moist. It freezes well!

orange juice
1 Tbsp
orange zest
2/3 c
buttermilk
6 Tbsp
unsalted butter
1 large
egg beaten lightly
2 c
un-bleached flour
1 c
granulated sugar
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1 1/2 c
fresh cranberries chopped coarse
1/2 c
walnuts, chopped coarse

How to Make The Best Cranberry Walnut Bread

Step-by-Step

  • 1Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees and prepare a loaf pan for baking. My favorite is a stoneware loaf pan sprayed with PAM baking spray.
  • 2Stir, the orange juice, orange zest, buttermilk, melted butter and egg together in a bowl.
  • 3Whisk together all dry ingredients. Add the liquids, blending together.
  • 4Add chopped cranberries and walnuts, stirring until well mixed.
  • 5Bake for 20 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 degrees and bake for another 30 to 35 minutes.
