Simple & Sweet Honey, Cheese, & Almond Pastry
1roll of prepared puff pastry dough (thawed)
2bricks/packages of cream cheese, room temperature
1 cwhite sugar
1egg, beaten with a splash of water
How to Make Simple & Sweet Honey, Cheese, & Almond Pastry
- mix together softened cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar
- sprinkle cookie sheet/pan with white sugar.
Unroll Puffed pastry sheet, lay on pan
- cover the surface of dough with cream cheese/sugar mix.
(you will want to leave the edges clear of cream cheese so you can press them together)
Generously drizzle honey onto cream cheese (don't be of using too much, because some of the honey will ooze out during baking)
take a small handful of sliced almonds and sprinkle.
- Fold pastry dough in half, press the edges together.
Brush with egg wash.
Sprinkle more sugar on.
Put a few scratches into the dough, then top with a large handful of almonds.
Bake at 385 for about 30 minutes.
