- 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter cut into pieces, plus more for the pan
- 1 cup all purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons grated orange zest
- 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
How To Make orange-poppy seed shortbread wedges

Step 1In a food processor, process the flour, sugar, salt, and butter until moist clumps form. Add the orange zest and poppy seeds and pulse once or twice just to combine.

Step 2Press the mixture evenly into a buttered 9-inch fluted removable bottom tart pan (or a 9-inch round cake pan).

Step 3Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly golden.

Step 4Using a serrated knife, cut the warm shortbread into 12 wedges. Let the wedges cool completely before removing them from the pan.
