1/2 craisins, optional
1/2 chot water, needed only if raisins are used
1/2 cgrapenuts cereal, dry
1 largeegg, beaten
2 call purpose flour
2 tspbaking powder
1/2 tspbaking soda
How to Make Healthy Tea Bread- Mom's
- If using raisins: Place raisins in a small bowl and pour hot water on them. Allow to sit until called for in recipe.
Place Grape-Nuts in another small bowl and pour buttermilk over cereal. Allow to sit for 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
When Grape-Nuts have soaked 20 minutes add egg and sugar and stir to mix. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Stir dry ingredients into Grape-Nuts mixture.
Drain raisins well. Fold into batter. Pour into a greased standard sized bread pan. Bake for 1 hour. Serve warm with butter.
