Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 4 cups bread flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 - very ripe bananas
- 2 sticks butter, melted
- 1 cup cinnamon & sugar mixed divided
How To Make bananas for monkey bread
-
Step 1Grease bundt pan and set aside. Heat oven to 350.
-
Step 2Warm your milk and shortening on the stovetop on very low until shortening is melted; turn off heat.
-
Step 3Mix flour, salt, baking powder with milk mixture until dough forms. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness and cut with biscuit cutter. (I use an upsidedown cup.)
-
Step 4Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces. Toss them in dry cinnamon & sugar mix. Drop biscuit pieces into greased bundt pan until bottom is covered. Slice 1 banana and cover biscuits with banana pieces. Create another layer of biscuit pieces, another layer of the 2nd banana and so on.
-
Step 5Mix melted butter with cinnamon and sugar until it's very thick. Pour into bundt pan over biscuits & bananas. Bake for 20-30 minutes. NOTE: Put a pan under your bundt pan - it bubbles over a little! This turns out amazing. My family devoured the whole thing! Thank you Jesus for baking with me :0)
