Basic recipe from my mom's old Betty Crocker cookbook. Still a family favortie though. :)

  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
  • 3 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
  • 3/4 c
  • 1
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 3
    large bananas, mashed

How to Make Banana Nut Bread


  1. Heat oven to 350. Grease and flour 9x5x3 loaf pan. For 3 MINI LOAVES (3x5x2) heat to 325.
  2. Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl. Thoroughly mix ingredients for about 30 seconds, scraping bowl frequently.
  3. Pour into loaf pan/s, bake for about 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Transfer to wire rack to cool. Allow to cool completely before slicing.
  4. Best served hot with butter. Freezes well.
