Ingredients

  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 c
    grated apples
  • 2 tsp
    evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    optional,nutmeats,craisins, or raisins

How to Make Aunt Maries Irish Apple Bread

Step-by-Step

  1. Sift together dry ingredients,set aside.
    Cream together, shortning,& Sugar.
  2. Stir in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Add dry ingredients, mixing well. Add Grated, raw aplle,evap milk and Vanilla. Beat until smooth, adding optional ingredients also.Pour in to greased bread pan.
  3. Mix 3 Tablesppons of sugar,1 tsp cinnamon,spread evenly over top of bread. Bake @ 350 for 1 hour. Insert toothpick to test.Should be golden brown.
    Cool & ENJOY !
