From "Go Bold With Butter" this is the cornbread for the cornbread chorizo dressing.

whole wheat flour
2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
kosher salt
2 Tbsp
butter, melted
2 Tbsp

How to Make Corn Bread


  • 1Preheat oven to 400ºF. Butter 8-inch square baking pan.
  • 2In large bowl, stir together corn meal, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
    In separate bowl, beat eggs together with buttermilk and butter.
  • 3Slowly add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
  • 4Place batter in prepared pan (batter will be thick). Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bread is golden brown and a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
    Cool on a cooling rack for 10-15 minutes before turning out of the pan.
