Found this handwritten recipe while going through my stack of old clippings. I like the fact that it doesn't need to rise before baking.

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose, self-rising flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 can 12 oz. beer
- - melted butter
How To Make beer bread

Step 1Gently mix together flour, sugar, and beer just until blended.

Step 2Turn out into greased, 9"X5"X3" loaf pan. If using a metal pan, bake in preheated 375 degree oven: if using a glass pan, bake at 350 degrees.

Step 3Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Drizzle with butter. Turn out on rack; cool slightly. Serve warm with plenty of butter.
