Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 - eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all purpose flour
How To Make sweet southern cornbread

Step 1Preheat oven to 375. Put heavy, oven safe skillet (cast iron is best) in oven while it is preheating. Once skillet is hot, add butter to skillet, allow butter to melt.

Step 2While skillet is heating prepare cornbread batter. In medium bowl, add eggs-whisk slightly. Add buttermilk, whisk slightly. Add sugar, baking soda and salt. Whisk mixing well. Add cornmeal and flour. Mix well. Add melted butter to batter. Mix well.

Step 3Pour batter in hot skillet. Bake at 375 for 30-40 min.
