    1 cup flour, white
  • ·
    3/4 cup cornmeal
  • ·
    3 tbsp sugar, white
  • ·
    1 tsp baking soda
  • ·
    1 tsp baking powder
  • ·
    1 tsp cream of tarter
  • ·
    1 tsp salt
  • ·
    1 large egg, beaten
  • ·
    2 tbsp butter, melted
  • ·
    1 cup sour cream, thick
  • ·
    1/4 cup milk
  • ·
    soft butter & jam (for serving)

How to Make Sour Cream Cornbread


  1. Preheat oven to 400º F
  2. Grease a 9x5-inch bread pan with butter and set aside until needed.
  3. Add flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt in a bowl and mix well.
  4. Now add the egg, sour cream, milk and butter mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake 30 - 35 minutes.
  6. Cool on wire rack.
  7. Enjoy, sliced with butter and or jam.
