peggi's hamburger buns, hot rolls, loaf bread
For wheat buns, I use half the amount of all purpose flour & the other half whole wheat flour.For whole wheat loaf bread , I omit the onion powder. For white bread, I also omit the onion powder. Very light & fluffy texture.

6 hamburger buns or 1 loaf bread or 10 hot rolls
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup lukewarm water
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons butter & oil
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
How To Make peggi's hamburger buns, hot rolls, loaf bread

Step 1Combine all ingredients & mix & knead them, by hand, mixer or bread machine, to form a soft dough.

Step 2Place dough in lightly greased bowl, cover, & let rise in a warm place for an hour, until it's almost doubled in size.

Step 3Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface,knead into a oblong roll like a loaf of bread.

Step 4If making a loaf; place in sprayed loaf pan.

Step 5If making hamburger buns; with a bench knife, cut into 6-8 equal pieces, depending on size of buns you want & place in sprayed cups of hamburger pans,flattening gently to spread out.

Step 6If making hot rolls; pinch off equal amounts & roll & tuck in hands to form ball. Place in sprayed pan, tucked side down, sides touching but don't crowd.

Step 7Cover & let rise until the bread has doubled in size. Towards the end of rising, preheat oven to 350°.

Step 8Brush with a beaten egg added with 2 T. water.

Step 9Bake for about 20 minutes or until nicely browned on top.Remove from oven & lightly brush with butter & sprinkle with Italian seasoning ON LOAVES & HAMBURGER BUNS.

Step 10Cool on rack.
