My mom has made these rolls for years. They are fairly easy to make & well worth the wait.

prep time 2 Hr
cook time 15 Min
method ---
yield Approximately 24 rolls

Ingredients

  • 5 - 6 cups flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 packages yeast or in bulk, 2 scant tablespoons

How To Make my mom's yeast rolls

  • Step 1
Heat milk and melt margarine together. (Heat on low heat) When margarine is melted will be about hot enough.
  • Step 2
Mix two cups flour, sugar, salt, and yeast together.
  • Step 3
Add eggs and milk mixture. Mix thoroughly - beat for two minutes. Add rest of flour gradually until have used the six cups.
  • Step 4
Put in a greased bowl and turn dough over a time or two to grease your dough. Put a cloth over it - set in a warm place to raise until double in size.
  • Step 5
Punch down and knead. Let rest a few minutes, knead again - make into rolls and lets raise again. Takes approximately two hours to complete. Bake at 350 degrees for about 18 min. (Don’t overbake)
