This is a great recipe to have when you are out of biscuit mix. Use it just like you would biscuit mix. I can't remember who shared this recipe with me, but it has really come in handy. I store mine in the fridge to prolong the life of it.

Ingredients

  • 10 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups shortening
  • 1/2 cup baking powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt

How To Make homemade biscuit mix

  • Step 1
    In a very large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
  • Step 2
    With a pastry blender cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. STORE IN AIR TIGHT CONTAINER UP TO 6 WEEKS. Use to make pancakes or biscuits or any recipe calling for biscuit mix.
