When I came across Betty's recipe for corn bread I decided to add it. Do any of us remember when we made this simple recipe from scratch? It's really easy.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 1/2 tablespoons shortening
- 2 - eggs , beat well
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons sugar
How To Make betty's corn bread

Step 1Scald milk and pour over the cornmeal and shortening. Cool, add beaten eggs, baking powder,salt, and sugar mix well. Pour into a greased shallow pan and bake in a hot oven.

Step 2Bake at 400 for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
