Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 eggs, or 4 egg whites, lightly beaten
- 1 cup skim milk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 bag (60% or more cacao) dark chocolate chips
How To Make healthy and delicious chocolate chip muffins

Step 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Spray pan with cooking spray. I use bakers joy with flour added.

Step 3Mix the flours, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a medium bowl.

Step 4In a large bowl stir together the applesauce, eggs, milk, brown sugar, and vanilla.

Step 5Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and mix until just until combined. Careful not to overmix.

Step 6Add chocolate chips.

Step 7Fill each muffin cup to about 3/4 full.

Step 8Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of muffin comes out clean.

Step 9Place muffin pan on a wire rack to cool for about 5 minutes.

Step 10Gently remove the muffins from the pan and place them on the wire rack to cool.
