Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 - egg
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 cup yellow corn meal
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How To Make ellen's sweet cornbread

Step 1In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, egg, butter, milk, and water. In a separate bowl, combine sugar, corn meal, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir gently to combine.

Step 2Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until they are all combined. The batter should be a bit lumpy.

Step 3Pour the mixture into a greased 8x8-inch baking dish. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 25-30 minutes, or until set in the middle and golden brown. Serve with lots of melted butter!
