bran muffins
I have had this recipe for over 40 years and loved it when I first found it. I moved several times and thought I had lost it. A few years ago, I found it again and it took some time to find the ingredients, but I did. When I bit into it for the first time today, it took me back to the first time I tried it over 40 years ago. It was a good memory.

Makes about a dozen and a half muffins, depending on how big you make them.
Ingredients
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 cups 100% bran
- 1 cup 40% bran flakes
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups all- purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
How To Make bran muffins

Step 1Pour water over bran and flakes, and cool.

Step 2Cream sugar, oil and eggs. Stir into bran mixture. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.

Step 3Grease muffin pan and add muffin mixture to pan. Bake at 400 degrees F for 15-20 minutes.
