This quick & easy sandwich recipe comes from a label on a jar of apple butter. Sometimes that's where you can find the yummiest recipes! This is so tasty and fun--great for kids and grandparents alike!

granny smith apple
1 tsp
lemon juice
1/2 c
grated apple
1/2 c
cream cheese
2 Tbsp
crunchy peanut butter
1 1/2 Tbsp
apple butter
1/4 tsp
ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp
ground nutmeg
6 slice
whole wheat bread, lightly toasted

NOTE: YOU MAY ALSO ADD 1 SLICED BANANA IF YOU WISH.

How to Make NUTTY APPLE SANDWICH

Step-by-Step

  • 1Peel, core, and slice the Granny Smith apple.
  • 2Coat apple slices with lemon juice; set aside. If you don't have lemon juice, coat in cold salty water.
  • 3In a medium bowl, mix grated apple, cream cheese, apple butter, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • 4Spread the mixture on 3 pieces of the wheat toast and top with apple slices (and banana if using).
  • 5Spread peanut butter on remaining 3 pieces of wheat toast. Combine one piece of each toast to create a sandwich. Cut in half and serve.
