PLACE IN BREAD MACHINE IN THIS EXACT ORDER
1 cwarm water (105º f)
1/8 cmolasses or honey
1 cpureed carrot (baby food works great)
2 tsppoppy seeds
3 cwhole wheat flour
1 pkgactive dry yeast (2.5 teaspoons
How to Make CARROT-POPPY SEED BREAD (SALLYE)
- Measure all ingredients and set on counter within easy reach.
IMPORTANT: If you don't have a theremometer to check the water temperature, sprinkle a few drops on the inside of your wrist.(Think baby formula) It should just be barely lukewarm. If water is too hot, it will kill the yeast action.
Pour water into bread machine pan
- Whisk the molasses and oil together until well blended. Pour into bread machine on top of water
Add carrots and poppy seeds
Carefully add flour, making certain that liquid is completely covered by flour
Make a small well in the top of flour and pour the yeast into the depression
- Start bread machine for cooking
This bread can be cooked on either regular or rapid cycle.
