buttermilk cheddar-bacon bread
I love breads that are made without using yeast and I'm all over this recipe. I could have this with a little butter slathered on and a cup of coffee and be good to go. Recipe: Kraftfoods.com 08-21-14

Ingredients
- 2-1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 - egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
How To Make buttermilk cheddar-bacon bread

Step 1In a medium bowl, mix the first four ingredients. In a separate bowl, whisk egg, buttermilk and butter until blended.

Step 2Add egg mixture to the flour mixture along with the bacon, cheese and chives; stir just until moistened.

Step 3Spoon mixture into a sprayed 8x4-inch loaf pan and bake in a preheated 350º oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Step 4Cool in pan for 15 minutes and the remove to a wire rack; cool completely.

Step 5NOTE: May be wrapped tightly and frozen for up to 3 months.
