Homemade rye bread from your bread machine. What could be tastier than slices of this bread, a big slab of ham, and a slice of your favorite cheese. garnished with fresh lettuce and tomatoes, of course. Oh my, what a treat.

Ingredients

  • IMPORTANT: ADD INGREDIENTS IN THE EXACT ORDER LISTED
  • 1-1/8 cup lukewarm water (105º max)
  • 4 teaspoons butter
  • 2-1/4 cup white bread flour
  • 3/4 cup rye flour
  • 2-1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1-1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cornmeal
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 package rapid rise yeast (1/4 oz) or 2 teaspoons

How To Make perfect rye bread in machine (sallye)

  • Step 1
    IMPORTANT; PLACE INGREDIENTS IN THE BREAD MACHINE BAKING PAN IN THE EXACT ORDER LISTED ABOVE. Run tap water until lukewarm (105º max). If you don't have a thermometer test on the inside of your wrist. If water is too hot, it will kill the yeast action. Cut butter into 4 pieces
  • Step 2
    Gently pour lukewarm water into bread machine pan. Add butter to pan Place white flour, rye flour, sugar, salt, caraway seeds and cornmeal in a separate mixing bowl. Stir with wood spoon until blended. Carefully pour flour mixture over liquid in bread machine baking pan. Make sure all liquid is completely covered with flour mixture. Make a small depression in flour, add yeast Set machine to white or basic, medium crust. Turn machine on and smell the goodness for the next several hours. Enjoy.
