This recipe was passed down from Ann Jones McCarley of Lefors, Texas to her granddaughter Pam Parker Barrett of Amarillo, Texas through Pam's mother, Peggy McCarley Parker of Amarillo.

Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 packages yeast dissolved in half cup water
- 1 - egg
- 3 cups flour
How To Make granny mccarley's angel rolls

Step 1In a large mixing bowl, add salt, sugar and shortening to hot milk and let stand until lukewarm.

Step 2Add yeast, egg and flour and beat well. Allow to stand 20 minutes and then knead lightly 3 to 5 minutes.

Step 3Cover the bowl with a damp dishcloth and let rise.

Step 4Roll out on board and cut or form into shape with the lid of a Mason jar.

Step 5Put rolls onto greased pan 1 inch apart and let rise 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 6Cook in hot oven until brown. (about 8-10 minutes)
