2-1/4 call purpose flour
2-1/2 tspbaking powder
1/2 tspbaking soda
1/2 ccold butter, cubed (1 stick)
1 c(4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
3 Tbspminced fresh chives
How to Make FLAKY CHEDDAR-CHIVE BISCUITS
- In a large bowl, whisk the first five ingredients together. Cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; stir in cheese and chives.
- Add buttermilk; stir just until moistened. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead gently 8-10 times.
- Pat or roll dough to 3/4-in. thickness; cut with a floured 2-1/2-in. biscuit cutter or the open end of a small glass. Place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 425º oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with melted butter.
