yummy strawberry buns

These buns are berry delicious! That's what my kid's call them. They disappear the moment I take them out of the oven.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups bread flour, unbleached
  • 7 grams active dry yeast
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm milk(110 f)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 - egg yolk
  • 4 tablespoons butter, soft
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and cut in half
  • TOPPING:
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 tablespoons sugar

How To Make yummy strawberry buns

  • Step 1
    Mix the flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Add butter, warm milk, egg and yolk.
  • Step 2
    Mix with the hook attachment for about 5-8 minutes on medium speed.
  • Step 3
    Cover with towel and let it double in size, about 60-90 minutes.
  • Step 4
    You can leave in refrigerator over night and bake in the morning.
  • Step 5
    Make 9-10 small balls. Leave them on the pan for another 1/2 hour to raise. The batter is very thin, so handle it with flour on your hands.
  • Step 6
    Arrange strawberries on top and pressing slightly into batter. Sprinkle with streusel.
  • Step 7
    Bake in 375 F preheated oven for 20 - 25 minutes or until golden brown.
