VIRGIL'S SWEET POTATO BISCUITS
( GOOD OL GRANDMA )
16 ozcooked mashed potatoes
1 clight brown sugar
1/4 cwater or 2% milk
2 1/4 csouthern buttery biscuit mix
1/4 tspallspice ( if desired)
How to Make VIRGIL'S SWEET POTATO BISCUITS
- Peel and cook sweet potatoes, set aside to cool. Mix together sweet potatoes, brown sugar, biscuit mix, and water or milk. (milk is best)
- Combine ingredients completely, the mixture should be moister than regular biscuit. Flour table roll biscuit mix to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with 1 1/2 inch biscuit cutter. Place on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 17 minutes. This mixture does not allow the biscuits to rise much. It's good to have a timer on hand to let you know when the biscuits are done
- Serve with fresh butter or Land-O-Lakes cream. Also good with sausage patties.
