This is an old recipe that was found in a kitchen drawer at my cousin's home after she died. She was always a fabulous cook and there were ALWAYS fresh, hot rolls in her oven and a pan of gravy on the stove! We were sure surprised to find out just how simple those fabulous rolls were to make!

Ingredients For spoon rolls

  • 4 c
    self rising flour
  • 3/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 2 c
    water
  • 1 pkg
    yeast
  • 2 Tbsp
    warm water to dissolve yeast

How To Make spoon rolls

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease or spray muffin pan cups.
  • 2
    Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • 3
    Place all ingredients in large bowl and stir to mix well. Mixture will not resemble a dough at all!

    Spoon into prepared muffin cups, about 2/3 full.
  • 5
    Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
