This is a recipe I found this Holiday season. It is not an original, but I thought I would share it because it was really good. I made them with a ham to serve as little sandwiches on a buffet.

prep time 1 Hr
cook time 20 Min
method Bake
yield 12 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 4 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rapid rise yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How To Make one hour buttermilk rolls

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to warm, 170 degrees F (for dough rising).
  • Step 2
Place butter, buttermilk and water into a heat proof bowl. Microwave until butter is mostly melted and between 115-120 degrees F.
  • Step 3
In a large bowl place flour, sugar, yeast and salt mix to combine. Add warm milk mixture with butter. Mix to form smooth dough. Transfer dough to a lightly floured countertop. Knead several minutes untill firm dough forms.
  • Step 4
Cut into 12 equal pieces and place onto lightly oiled sheetpan. Place into warm oven and let rise in warm oven for 20-30 minutes.
  • Step 5
Bake for 12-14 minutes at 350, until just barely turning golden brown on top. Remove, brush with melted butter and serve.
