Biscuts where a way of life on the old farm, you had them for most meals. There is nothing like a hot biscut fresh from the oven, put butter or jam on them and it just melts in you mouth.My Grandma mad hot milk gravy to go with them as well.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons cold shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk

How To Make grandma's baking powder biscuts

  • Step 1
    Sift dry ingredents together, and cut in shortening.
  • Step 2
    Add milk to make a soft dough, Place on a floured board and knead lightly a few seconds. Using as little flour as possible on the board.
  • Step 3
    Roll out 1/2 " thickness and cut with floured biscut cutter. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake in a very hot oven 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
