- 2-1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/3 cup shortening or butter
- 1 cup milk
- - extra flour for the counter
How To Make easy homemade biscuits

Step 1In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

Step 2Cut in the shortening or butter to resemble coarse crumbs. Add half the milk and mix; then add remaining milk and thoroughly mix together.

Step 3Place on a floured surface and knead gently 15-20 times. Pat out flat and cut out biscuits.

Step 4Place biscuits on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 425º oven for 13-15 minutes. Brush tops with butter as they come out of the oven.
