Okay here we go… this is an appetizer that we all know and love… tomato and mozzarella, but with a twist. We’re going to use some balsamic pearls to enhance the dish, and put it into another dimension… It’s easy peasy and gives great presentation. So, you ready… let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1 large tomato
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into four slices
  • 1 teaspoon dried, ground basil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic pearls

How To Make tomato & mozzarella with balsamic pearls

  • Step 1
    Gather your ingredients.
  • Step 2
    Place a rack in the middle position, and preheat the oven to 450f (232c).
  • Step 3
    Cut the tomato into four slices.
  • Step 4
    Add a piece of mozzarella and a bit of dried basil to the first slice.
  • Step 5
    Repeat for the other slices.
  • Step 6
    Place in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  • Step 7
    Remove and garnish with the balsamic pearls, olive oil and additional basil. Enjoy.
