  • PLAN/PURCHASE

    mozzarella cut into thick sticks
  • ·
    wonton wrappers
  • ·
    peanut oil for frying
  • ·
    dipping sauce, your choice

How to Make Easy Peasy Mozzarella Appetizers

Step-by-Step

  1. PREP/PREPARE
  2. Gather and prep all your ingredients.
  3. Chef’s Note: Wonton wrappers are the ideal size (3.5 inches square). However, in a pinch, you can cut large eggroll wrappers to the same size.
  4. Chef’s Note: Cut the mozzarella into sticks 1/4 inch thick by 3 inches wide.
  5. Heat about a 1/4-inch of oil in a pan to 350f (175c).
  6. Place a stick of mozzarella on a wonton wrapper.
  7. Use a bit of water to dampen the two top sides of the wanton wrapper.
  8. Fold up the bottom.
  9. Tuck in the sides.
  10. Roll into a tight bundle.
  11. Repeat for the other mozzarella sticks.
  12. Add them to the hot oil.
  13. Allow them to cook for about 1 minute per side.
  14. Chef’s Tip: If you let them cook too long the cheese will expand and ooze out of the wrapper. I HATE it when that happens.
  15. Chef’s Tip: If you are making several batches of these, preheat your oven to 200f (95c), and put them in there to keep warm until ready to serve.
  16. PLATE/PRESENT
  17. Serve while still warm with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy.
  18. Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
