Ingredients

  • PLAN/PURCHASE
  • - mozzarella cut into thick sticks
  • - wonton wrappers
  • - peanut oil for frying
  • - dipping sauce, your choice

How To Make easy peasy mozzarella appetizers

  • Step 1
    PREP/PREPARE
  • Step 2
    Gather and prep all your ingredients.
  • Step 3
    Chef’s Note: Wonton wrappers are the ideal size (3.5 inches square). However, in a pinch, you can cut large eggroll wrappers to the same size.
  • Step 4
    Chef’s Note: Cut the mozzarella into sticks 1/4 inch thick by 3 inches wide.
  • Step 5
    Heat about a 1/4-inch of oil in a pan to 350f (175c).
  • Step 6
    Place a stick of mozzarella on a wonton wrapper.
  • Step 7
    Use a bit of water to dampen the two top sides of the wanton wrapper.
  • Step 8
    Fold up the bottom.
  • Step 9
    Tuck in the sides.
  • Step 10
    Roll into a tight bundle.
  • Step 11
    Repeat for the other mozzarella sticks.
  • Step 12
    Add them to the hot oil.
  • Step 13
    Allow them to cook for about 1 minute per side.
  • Step 14
    Chef’s Tip: If you let them cook too long the cheese will expand and ooze out of the wrapper. I HATE it when that happens.
  • Step 15
    Chef’s Tip: If you are making several batches of these, preheat your oven to 200f (95c), and put them in there to keep warm until ready to serve.

    Serve while still warm with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy.
