The finished product! LOOKS WONDERFUL. Doesn't it? Well, that's because it is. Will be taking this to our Senior Citizen's meeting at church on Friday at noon. 4/24/13
This is my first two "big globs" of mayonnaise that I added. After mixing it up really well, and tasting it I added two more "big globs" just like them to it...and it was PERFECT! 4/24/13
After I added the boiled and cooled sugar/vinegar mixture into the macaroni this is what it looked like. The liquid is hiding under the mac. There was a lot of liquid; but it ended up perfect. 4/24/13
Actually Jan, they gave us the key last month...and we were not even members yet. We've been attending the church for about a year. Just decided to make it "official" on Palm Sunday. 4/25/13
Sounds like you two, yourselves, are taking enough food for the whole group! (Except for the meatballs, of course!) But I'm sure some of the others will bring food, too. You and the Hubs must look very trustworthy, to be put in charge a month after you join! :D Relax and have fun!
Hubs and I are (were) not in charge of the meeting...our Pastor is/was. LOL. Until tonight. We just found out that he has to take his wife to Gainesville Friday for a doctor appointment at 9:15 a.m. So they will not be there....and we are in charge! YIKES!! I was given a key and told where the meatballs are and how to make them so we have to be there EARLY Friday to set up tables and chairs and get the meatballs going. OH MY.... So I know we will be having meatballs, potato salad, this macaroni salad and my cake. LOL. We just changed churches and have only been members of this church since Palm Sunday 2013. 4/24/13
I'm making a potato salad and a cake tomorrow to take on Friday and I didn't want to make all three on the same day so I made this one ahead by one more day. I knew it would be good for quite awhile. My hubs likes his salads better after they sit a few days. He says they just keep getting better. He's pretty easy to please with some things. LOL 4/24/13
We have Kept it for as long as a week in the fridge, and it just gets better and better as the flavors keep blending. I don't know how long it would keep without going bad...we just keep eating it till it's gone! I have added more mayo after a few days, though.
I agree, Jan. Putting some red bell pepper in here too would be much prettier...more colorful...but I only had one green bell pepper and it was just a little over a cup when I got it all chopped up and measured. I would call it a heaping cup. LOL...But with that much Macaroni it was perfect for me. Hope the seniors agree with me on Friday. By then all the flavors will be melded together and absorbed by the mac. I'm sure it will be even better on Friday at noon than it was at 5:30 p.m. today when I finished making it. 4/24/13
I was trying to think why yours looks different from mine, and then I remembered: unless they're way overpriced, I try to use several different colors of bell peppers (at least red and green). It makes it pretty and less bland-looking.
I would if I could, Cin. I think you'd love it!
Thanks, Jan. It is good enough to eat! LOL
I'd share some with both of you ladies if you didn't
live so far away! :(
