Yes this was so well received, even though it is a plain cake, that is not as sweet as most cakes, but there was much positive feed back from this cake.
I baked this recipe in 2 different pans. I used 2 load pans for the first batch and used a Heart Shaped Cake Pan for the second recipe, the pan will not hold the entire recipe as I later found out during baking, but it still worked out. Next time I will use a layer pan and only fill the pan about 2/3 full. But it was enjoyed by every one. It is a simple recipe, using less eggs and butter than some cakes, that mama made often to satisfy our sweet tooth. You can serve it plain or with fresh fruit, and even canned sliced peaches.
