Mix the egg and milk (or half and half), pour over the top. Sit in the fridge overnight. Continue with the recipe instructions. Bake and then top with cream of mushroom soup and finish baking.
Sauteed an assortment of rough chopped mixed fresh mushrooms with small diced, sweet yellow, red and orange peppers, and a little onion in butter and evoo.
I had some leftover bread I bought from Yoder's market. I also had some of those mini sweet peppers. I bought a beautiful tray of mixed fresh mushrooms and, wha-la......Another strata. Nothing say's you MUST use french bread.
