I made this recipe recently and added a small twist to it. I took pecans and spread them out on a cookie sheet and drizzled melted butter over them, and then sprinkled a little Kosher salt on top. I then roasted them in the oven for about 15 minutes at 375 F, crushed them per the recipe and added the required amount to the mix. I also didn't have a baking pan available, so I used my trusty 9 x 13 glass baking dish and simply greased it thoroughly with Crisco before pouring the batter. It came out of the oven at the 30 minute mark absolutely perfect! I mixed up the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla, added a little ground ginger for taste and poured the mixture into a plastic bag. Once the cake had cooled a bit, I cut a small corner off the bag and drizzled the sugar topping over the piece I had cut from the baking dish. I was able to make this entire recipe in less than 50 minutes, and can't wait for my wife to get home from work so she can have a piece while it's still warm. I would definitely make this recipe again. I highly recommend it.
