Remove your items from heat, ASAP, to discourage additional melting. If desired, sprinkle a little sea salt across chocolates. Now, you get to add your candies white the chocolate is still warm.
Cooling takes longer than you might expect, especially if your kitchen is warm. I had so many batches to make, I cheated a little by placing my treats under a fan to speed up cooling.
I highly recommend lining your cookie sheet with parchment paper, whether you use a baking rack or not. Despite your best efforts, there are bound to be drips of melted chocolate.
Be creative in choosing your ingredients. My senior aunt has dental issues and cannot handle hard pretzels. My son requires gluten-free pretzel crisps. By choosing different candies you can really widen your flavor options!
