I am not a trained cook or chef, but like many of the things I do, I am intensely self-taught, or have done a lot of reading, practicing, and classes on-line. I enjoy both cooking and baking, having learned one from my mother (cooking) and the other from my father (baking). I love learning new things, trying out new ingredients, and improving on old favorites. I put together a family cookbook 8 years ago and I have quite a collection of favorites, though most of what I cook, I do from memory. I also enjoy taking old favorite recipes and making them with healthy alternative ingredients.
