FDA Announces Recall of Chicken Fried Rice Products Sold at Trader Joe’s

On March 3, 2026, Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc expanded the February 19, 2026 recall to include an additional 16 products sold under the brands Ajinomoto, Kroger, Ling Ling, Tai Pei, and Trader Joe’s with best-by dates from February 28, 2026, to August 19, 2027. Initially the recall just affected items sold at Trader Joe’s locations.

Products were sold in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The products subject to recall bear establishment number P-18356, P-18356B, or P-47971 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The initial recall was issued for its Ajinomoto Yakitori Chicken With Japanese-Style Fried Rice and Trader Joe’s Chicken Fried Rice because the products may contain glass.

The problem was discovered after Ajinomoto Foods received four consumer complaints regarding glass found in the product and notified the FSIS.
