If you have a self cleaning oven put it in the next time you clean it; or pour some oil in it and sprinkle some salt, ( coarse kosher is best), start wiping with paper towels until rust is gone, may have to add more salt; rinse with very hot water and wipe all residue out and pan is dry. Pour a little oil on paper towel and rub the inside and out side of skillet and NEVER use soap; and now the easiest way: cover the skillet with vinegar; I use white, let soak overnight or several days and simply wipe out the skillet; rinse with very hot water completely, dry and do the paper towel oiling process listed above. This process is great for rust tools, shovels, etc. too.

Mine isn't brand new.How do you get the rust out? My grandmother gave it me and hasn't been loved in years.
