Basic low sodium Red Salsa

Red Salsa
5mg sodium = 1/2 c.

Ingredients

1 can(s)
14.5 oz. diced tomatoes, no salt added
1/2
sweet onion
1
fresh jalapeno's
1/4-1/2 c
chopped cilantro
2 clove
garlic, minced
1/2 tsp
cumin
1/4 tsp
mexican oregano

Directions Step-By-Step

Place diced tomatoes in mircowave proof bowl. Cut jalapeno(s)in half, and onion in quarters. Add to bowl with cilantro, garlic, cumin and oregano. Microwave for 5 min. (I place a plate over the bowl while microwaving to avoid splattering). Once veggies have cooled a bit, place in food processor and puree, add a little water if you prefer thinner sauce.

I think we have that in the Ethnic section of our grocery store. I will have to check.

Dana, here in CA they sell Mex oregano in the Mex section or produce dept by the chilis. They have a whole collection of spices sold in cellophane bags. I buy alot of spices that way..cheaper than in the bottle.
