Ingredients

PLAN/PURCHASE

12 small
meatballs, cooked, 1-inch (2.5cm) in diameter
8 oz
yummy italian sauce‬‬
4 oz
fresh mozzarella, shredded‬‬

Directions Step-By-Step

1
PREP/PREPARE
2
Gather your ingredients.
3
Chef’s Note: Choose your favorite sauce. I use this sauce:
Traditional Italian Red Sauce
4
Chef’s Note: Choose your favorite meatballs. I use these meatballs:
Delicious Beef & Pork Meatballs
5
Chef's Tip: I make the meatballs ahead of time (about 100), and freeze them. That way I always have some on hand for unexpected parties.
6
Place a rack in the middle position, and preheat the oven to 375f (190c).
7
Add the sauce and the meatballs to a skillet (I use cast iron).
8
Chef’s Note: If this skillet looks familiar it’s the ones that they use at Holiday Inns to serve their skillet breakfasts. When one of the inns closed, I picked up about 15 of them. The diameter of the skillet is 6 inches (15cm).
9
Chef’s Tip: To make this a one-dish recipe, the skillet will be used for the serving/presentation.
10
Slowly bring up to a simmer, about 5 to 7 minutes.
11
Remove from heat, and top with the mozzarella.
12
Place in the oven and bake until the cheese begins to brown, about 8 to 10 minutes.
13
PLATE/PRESENT
14
Place the skillet on a heatproof trivet, and serve with some nice crusty Italian bread. Enjoy
15
Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
