This is an old Southern Favorite in many homes in the South. Personally I had never made it myself, although I had heard many others speak of it.

A friend of my brothers makes this all the time. This is practically the only type of Corn Bread that she makes. Personally my mother always made a large skillet of Corn Bread, to feed our large family. So until this recipe, it was also the only type I had made as well.

But this is a Crispy crunchy bread on the outside, soft tender on the inside. It is great with butter slathered on it while it is hot, it is so good, you can even eat it cold.
