I can get the Green River soda, but it was the pistachio that got me, substitutions and mistakes often turn out to be some of our favorites.

If I get an early start, I can bake at least 4 pound Cakes in one day, the ones that takes one and a half hours to bake, and the ones like the Frangelico Black Walnt Sour Crm Pound Cake Supreme & Butter Pecan Cakes, I can bake 2 in one day, because there is so much prep involved, and the baking times are quite LONG.

BUT BELEIVE IT OR NOT, I ALWAYS NEED TO PHYCHE MYSELF UP TO GET STARTED, BUT ONCE I GET STARTED, I AM LIKE THE ENERGIZER BUNNY, I JUST KEEP GOING AND GOING TILL I AM DONE.

Cindy everyone enjoyed the Yellow Rose Cake.

Pat I made all of these desserts in about a weeks time, I started on the Thursday before we left, and we left on the Thursday of the week of the event. I got up at 2:30 A M in the morning on the day we were leaving, and made 16 recipes of the Double Peanut Butter Cups, Baked 2 Batches of the Southern Tea Cakes, Made 2 Pans of the Pay Day Bars, then made 8 recipes of the Peanut Brittle, all by noon on the day we left. Fortunately for me, My daughter finished packing the car after flying in from Ohio. Then she drove the 650 miles there, and my other daughter drove the entire distance back. Aside from being exhausted we had a fun trip.

Sandy that recipe came about by accident, I had planned to make the 7 Up Pound Cake with Glaze, but discovered I was out of 7-UP at the last minute, and didn't want to go to the store. Remembered I had the green River from the St Patrick's Day Dinner, and chose to use it instead, then because Pistachio pudding is green I decided to throw that in, and the soda is green, so when I made the glaze, I remembered the Shamrock Sprinkles I had left over, and hence this new cake was born. It is really a very moist and tasty cake, one of the few that I actually got to taste, and that wasn't until I was back home in Illinois. smile If you don't have the green river soda, you can always add a few drops of green food color & use lemon lime soda, because the cake has a hint of green to it also.
