This is a recipe i got from my mom, i can still remember the smell of this soup and her fried cornbread, i even loved this as a kid. I have been fixing this since my daughter was little and she even loved it, i stress this only because i have had a lot of people get "that" look on their faces, you know the one, "ewww, really, salmon in a soup"! but i have changed a few minds also, so i hope whoever does try it, loves it too.

Ingredients

  • 1 can(s)
    salmon, drain
  • 1 can(s)
    whole kernel corn
  • 1 large
    onion, quartered
  • 1 can(s)
    tomatoes (i like italian or diced)
  • 1/2
    bag, frozen carrots
  • 4-5 medium
    potatoes, quartered
  • SEASON WITH GARLIC SALT, PEPPER. SOMETIMES FOR AN ADDED KICK I SPRINKLE IN SOME OLD BAY

  • OOOPS, FORGOT ONE THING. SOME FOLKS DONT LIKE TO LEAVE THE BONES IN, I JUST USE A FORK AND CRUSH THEM.

How to Make salmon stew

Step-by-Step

  1. Fill pot half full with water, bring to a boil, adding potatoes onion and carrots and tomatoes, reduce to a simmer. Cook until potatoes are almost done, add corn and salmon let simmer on low heat.
