This is another recipe from my German grandmother. A big time favorite with my family when it starts to get cold here in Texas.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium russet potatoes
  • 1 small onion
  • 6 teaspoons celery seed
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How To Make german potatoe soup

  • Step 1
    Clean potatoes (peel if you want to) Dice into bite size peices. Rinse until clean. Put into large pot. Cover with water. Add salt.
  • Step 2
    Put onion and celery seed into pot, boil until potatoes are fork tender. Take off heat, add butter and milk.
  • Step 3
    Serve into bowls with good bread on the side.
