this is my version and it sure is good year round

Ingredients

  • 1 large head cabbage cored and chopped bite size
  • 5 large boiling potates quartered and cleaned
  • 5 large turnips cleaned peeled quartered
  • 1 stick butter
  • - salt and pepper
  • 11/2 cups half and half milk
  • 2 cloves garlic minced

How To Make french cabbage soup

  • Step 1
    in a lrg pot, place your cabbage, potatoes, turnips. cover them with water to a 1/2 inch above the vegtables. add your butter, salt and peper and garlic.
  • Step 2
    cook to boiling then turn down to a simmer. cook till vegtables are tender about 45 min to simmer. when vegtables are tender add your half and half and simmer 10 min more serve hot with crackers of choice
