This make ahead is a great staple in any pantry. So make a few for yourself as well as others. Great for new time cooks or in a house warming basket. These are great in a basket of treats for someone who is ailing.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup barley
- 1/2 cup dried split peas
- 1/2 cup uncooked rice
- 1/2 cup dry lentils
- 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
- 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
- 2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules (can use chicken or vegan)
- 1/2 cup uncooked alphabet pasta
- 1 cup uncooked twist macaroni
How To Make country soup in a jar

Step 1In a wide-mouth jar, layer the barley, peas, rice & lentils. Then layer around the edges the onion, parsley, salt, lemon pepper, bouillon, and the alphabet pasta. Fill the rest of the jar with the twist macaroni. Seal the jar.

Step 2Cooking Directions: (To be included with the soup mix)

Step 3Country soup Add contents of the jar to 3 quarts of water. Add 2 stalks of chopped celery, 2 sliced carrots, 1 cup shreeded cabbage (optional), and 2 cups sun dried tomatoes or cut up regular ones. Heat over medium-low heat, cover & simmer for about 1 hour or until vegetables are tender. Note can add leftover Chicken or beef if desired
