Ingredients
- 4 cups tomatoes (8-10 tomatoes)
- 4 cups tomato juice
- 12-14 - leaves fresh basil
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
How To Make tomato basil soup

Step 1Peel, core and chop tomatoes.

Step 2Combine tomatoes and juice in a large saucepan. Simmer 30 minutes.

Step 3In a blender, puree tomatoes along with basil leaves in small batches.

Step 4Return to saucepan. Add milk, butter, salt and pepper while stirring over low heat, Cook 5 minutes,

Step 5Garnish with basil leaves. Serve with your favorite bread.
